उ॒त्तु॒दस्त्वोत् तु॑दतु॒ मा धृ॑थाः॒ शय॑ने॒ स्वे। इषुः॒ काम॑स्य॒ या भी॒मा तया॑ विध्यामि त्वा हृ॒दि॥१॥
uttutastvot tudatu mā dhṛthāḥ śayane sve. iṣuḥ kāmasya yā bhīmā tayā vidhyāmi tvā hṛdi.
Let the piercer pierce you; do not linger in your own bed. The fearful shaft of Kāma—with that I strike you in the heart.

आ॒धीप॑र्णां॒ काम॑शल्या॒मिषुं॑ संक॒ल्पकु॑ल्मलाम्। तां सुसं॑नतां कृ॒त्वा कामो॑ विध्यतु त्वा हृ॒दि॥२॥
ādhīparṇāṃ kāmaśalyāmiṣuṃ saṃkalpakulmalām tāṃ susaṃnatāṃ kṛtvā kāmo vidhyatu tvā hṛdi
An arrow with leaflike barbs, the dart of longing, bristling with the barbs of resolve—having well-smoothed it, let Kāma pierce your heart.

या प्ली॒हानं॑ शो॒षय॑ति॒ काम॒स्येषुः॒ सुसं॑नता । प्रा॒चीन॑पक्षा॒ व्योऽषा॒ तया॑ विध्यामि त्वा हृ॒दि॥३॥
yā plīhānaṃ śoṣayati kāmasya eṣuḥ susaṃnatā prācīnapakṣā vyo’ṣā tayā vidhyāmi tvā hṛdi
That well-feathered shaft of Kāma which withers the spleen—winged to the east, loosed forth—by that I pierce you in the heart.

शु॒चा वि॒द्धा व्योऽषया॒ शुष्का॑स्या॒भि स॑र्प मा । मृ॒दुर्निम॑न्युः॒ केव॑ली प्रियवा॒दिन्यनु॑व्रता ॥४॥
śucā viddhā vyo’ṣayā śuṣkāsyābhi sarpa mā mṛdur nimanyuḥ kevalī priyavādin yanuvratā
Pierced with the bright shaft, with the loosed arrow—dry-mouthed, creep toward me: gentle, without wrath, single-minded, speaking sweetly, devoted.

आजा॑मि॒ त्वाज॑न्या॒ परि॑ मा॒तुरथो॑ पि॒तुः । यथा॒ मम॒ क्रता॒वसो॒ मम॑ चि॒त्तमु॒पाय॑सि ॥५॥
ājāmi tvā ajanyā pari mātur atho pituḥ yathā mama kratā vaso mama cittam upāyasi
I beget you, unbegotten, from mother and from father as well—so that, O doer of rites, you may bring my mind to yourself, to me.

व्यऽस्यै मित्रावरुणौ हृ॒दश्चि॒त्तान्य॑स्यतम्। अथै॑नामक्र॒तुं कृ॒त्वा ममै॒व कृ॑णुतं॒ वशे॑ ॥६॥
vya’syai mitrāvaruṇau hṛdaś cittāny asyatam athainām akratuṃ kṛtvā mamaiva kṛṇutaṃ vaśe
May Mitra and Varuṇa unweave her heart’s thoughts; then, making her without will, bring her under my sole control.
