पय॑स्वती॒रोष॑धयः॒ पय॑स्वन्माम॒कं वचः॑ । अथो॒ पय॑स्वतीना॒मा भ॑रे॒ऽहं स॑हस्र॒शः ॥१॥
payasvatīr oṣadhayaḥ payasvan māmakaṃ vacaḥ. atho payasvatīnām ā bhare ’haṃ sahasraśaḥ.
Milk-rich herbs, make my speech milk-rich; and among the milk-rich may I win by thousands in the contest.

वेदा॒हं पय॑स्वन्तं च॒का॑र धा॒न्यं ऽ ब॒हु। सं॒भृत्वा॒ नाम॒ यो दे॒वस्तं व॒यं ह॑वामहे॒ योयो॒ अय॑ज्वनो गृ॒हे॥२॥
vedāhaṃ payasvantaṃ cakāra dhānyaṃ bahu. saṃbhṛtvā nāma yo devaṃ taṃ vayaṃ havāmahe yoyo ayajvano gṛhe.
I know it; I made the grain milk-rich and abundant. Having assembled it by name, we invoke that god—whoever he is—into the house of the non-sacrificer.

इ॒मा याः पञ्च॑ प्र॒दिशो॑ मान॒वीः पञ्च॑ कृ॒ष्टयः॑ । वृ॒ष्टे शापं॑ न॒दीरि॑वे॒ह स्फा॒तिं समा॑वहान्॥३॥
imā yāḥ pañca pradiśo mānavīḥ pañca kṛṣṭayaḥ. vṛṣṭe śāpaṃ nadīr iveha sphātiṃ samāvahān.
These five directions that are human, and the five peoples—may they call down abundance here in showers like rivers, averting the curse.

उदुत्सं॑ श॒तधा॑रं स॒हस्र॑धार॒मक्षि॑तम्। ए॒वास्माके॒दं धा॒न्यं ऽ स॒हस्र॑धार॒मक्षि॑तम्॥४॥
udutsaṃ śatadhāraṃ sahasradhāram akṣitam. evāsmāke idaṃ dhānyaṃ sahasradhāram akṣitam.
May the spring well up, hundred-streamed, thousand-streamed, unfailing. So may this our grain be thousand-streamed and unfailing.

शत॑हस्त स॒माह॑र॒ सह॑स्रहस्त॒ सं कि॑र । कृ॒तस्य॑ का॒र्यऽस्य चे॒ह स्फा॒तिं स॒माव॑ह ॥५॥
śatahasta samāhara sahasrahasta saṃ kira. kṛtasya kāryasya ceha sphātiṃ samāvaha.
Gather with a hundred hands, scatter with a thousand hands. Bring here fullness and success to what is done and what is to be done.

ति॒स्रो मात्रा॑ गन्ध॒र्वाणां॒ चत॑स्रो गृ॒हप॑त्न्याः । तासां॒ या स्फा॑ति॒मत्त॑मा॒ तया॑ त्वा॒भि मृ॑शामसि ॥६॥
tisro mātrā gandharvāṇāṃ catasro gṛhapatnyāḥ. tāsāṃ yā sphātim attamā tayā tvābhi mṛśāmasi.
Three are the measures of the Gandharvas, four of the mistress of the house. Of those, whichever is most abounding, with that we anoint you.

उ॒पो॒हश्च॑ समू॒हश्च॑ क्ष॒त्तारौ॑ ते प्रजापते । तावि॒हा व॑हतां स्फा॒तिं ब॒हुं भू॒मान॒मक्षि॑तम्॥७॥
upohaś ca samūhaś ca kṣattārau te prajāpate. tāv ihā vahatāṃ sphātiṃ bahuṃ bhūmānam akṣitam.
Upoha and Samūha are your stewards, O Prajāpati. Let them here convey abundance—plenty, greatness, unfailing.
