२ विराड्गर्भा भुरिक्, ३-६ अनुष्टुप्, ५ विराट् पुरउष्णिक्। अ॒ग्निर्नः॒ शत्रू॒न् प्रत्ये॑तु वि॒द्वान् प्र॑ति॒दह॑न्न॒भिश॑स्ति॒मरा॑तिम्। स सेनां॑ मोहयतु॒ परे॑षां॒ निर्ह॑स्तांश्च कृणवज्जा॒तवे॑दाः ॥१॥
agnir naḥ śatrūn praty etu vidvān prati dahann abhiśastim arātim sa senāṃ mohayatu pareṣāṃ nirhastaāṃś ca kṛṇavad jātavedāḥ
Agni, wise, go against our foes, burn up the curse and the hostility. Let Jātavedas confound the armies of our rivals and render them weaponless.

यू॒यमु॒ग्रा म॑रुत ई॒दृशे॑ स्था॒भि प्रेत॑ मृ॒णत॒ सह॑ध्वम्। अमी॑मृण॒न् वस॑वो नाथि॒ता इ॒मे अ॒ग्निर्ह्येऽषां दू॒तः प्र॒त्येतु॑ वि॒द्वान्॥२॥
yūyam ugrā maruta īdṛśe sthā bhi preta mṛṇata sahadhvam amīmṛṇan vasavo nāthitā ime agnir hyeʼṣāṃ dūtaḥ pratyetu vidvān
You fierce Maruts, you are like this—go forth, strike down, stand together. These foes are undone, O Vasus, subdued; let Agni, their messenger, come back knowing all.

अ॒मि॒त्र॒से॒नां॑ मघवन्न॒स्मान् छ॑त्रूय॒तीम॒भि। यु॒वं तानि॑न्द्र वृत्रहन्न॒ग्निश्च॑ दहतं॒ प्रति॑ ॥३॥
amitrasenāṃ maghavann asmān chatrūyatīm abhi yuvaṃ tān indra vṛtrahann agniś ca dahataṃ prati
Maghavan, ward off from us the hostile, overbearing army. You two—Indra, slayer of Vṛtra, and Agni—burn them back.

प्रसू॑त इन्द्र प्र॒वता॒ हरि॑भ्यां॒ प्र ते॒ वज्रः॑ प्रमृ॒णन्ने॑तु॒ शत्रू॑न्। ज॒हि प्र॒तीचो॑ अ॒नूचः॒ परा॑चो॒ विष्व॑क् स॒त्यं कृ॑णुहि चि॒त्तमे॑षाम्॥४॥
prasūta indra pravatā haribhyāṃ pra te vajraḥ pramṛṇann etu śatrūn jahi pratīco anūcaḥ parāco viṣvak satyaṃ kṛṇuhi cittam eṣām
Roused, O Indra, set forth with your two bays; let your thunderbolt go smiting the foes. Strike those who face, who flank, who flee—on every side; make their minds truly confounded.

इन्द्र॒ सेनां॑ मोहया॒मित्रा॑णाम्। अ॒ग्नेर्वात॑स्य॒ ध्राज्या॒ तान् विषू॑चो॒ वि ना॑शय ॥५॥
indra senāṃ mohayā mitrāṇām agner vātasya dhrājyā tān viśūco vi nāśaya
Indra, bewilder the enemy’s host. With the blaze of Agni and the rush of Vāta, scatter them to every side and destroy them.

इन्द्रः॒ सेनां॑ मोहयतु म॒रुतो॑ घ्न॒न्त्वोज॑सा । चक्षूं॑स्य॒ग्निरा द॑त्तां॒ पुन॑रेतु॒ परा॑जिता ॥६॥
indraḥ senāṃ mohayatu maruto ghnantu ojasā cakṣūṃsy agnir ādattāṃ punar etu parājitā
Let Indra confound the army; let the Maruts strike with might. Let Agni take away their sight; let the defeated return again.
