इन्द्र॑ जु॒षस्व॒ प्र व॒हा या॑हि शूर॒ हरि॑भ्याम्। पिबा॑ सु॒तस्य॑ म॒तेरि॒ह मधो॑श्चका॒नश्चारु॒र्मदा॑य ॥१॥
Indra juṣasva pravahā yāhi śūra haribhyām. Pibā sutasya mater iha madhoś cakānaś cārur madāya.
Indra, be gracious. Come borne swiftly by the two bay steeds, O hero. Drink here the pressed Soma, the dear sweetness sought for gladness.

Indra jaṭharaṃ navyo na pṛṇasva madhor divo na. Asya sutasya svarṇopa tvā madāḥ suvāco aguḥ.
Indra, fill your belly anew with the heavenly mead. Of this pressed Soma, O golden one, the joyous, melodious raptures have reached you.

इन्द्र॑स्तुरा॒षाण्मि॒त्रो वृ॒त्रं यो ज॒घान॑ य॒तीर्न। बि॒भेद॑ व॒लं भृगु॒र्न स॑सहे॒ शत्रू॒न् मदे॒ सोम॑स्य ॥३॥
Indras turāṣāṇ mitro vṛtraṃ yo jaghāna yatīr na. Bibheda valaṃ bhṛgur na sasahe śatrūn made somasya.
Indra the impetuous, Mitra—he who slew Vṛtra, who crushed the strivers. Like Bhṛgu he broke the stronghold; through Soma’s exhilaration he could not be withstood by foes.

आ त्वा॑ विशन्तु सु॒तास॑ इन्द्र पृ॒णस्व॑ कु॒क्षी वि॒ड्ढि श॑क्र धि॒येह्या नः॑ । श्रु॒धी हवं॒ गिरो॑ मे जुष॒स्वेन्द्र॑ स्व॒युग्भि॒र्मत्स्वे॒ह म॒हे रणा॑य ॥४॥
ā tvā viśantu sutāsa indra pṛṇasva kukṣī viḍdhi śakra dhiyehy ā naḥ. śrudhī havaṁ giro me juṣasvendra svayugbhir matsveha mahe raṇāya.
Come, O Indra, to the pressed libations; fill your bellies, O Śakra; sharpen our insight. Hear the summons, accept my hymns; O Indra, with your own-yoked steeds be here for great battle with our exhilarations.

इन्द्र॑स्य॒ नु प्रा वो॑चं वी॒र्याऽणि॒ यानि॑ च॒कार॑ प्रथ॒मानि॑ व॒ज्री। अह॒न्नहि॒मन्व॒पस्त॑तर्द॒ प्र व॒क्षणा॑ अभिन॒त् पर्व॑तानाम्॥५॥
indrasya nu prā vocaṁ vīryā’ṇi yāni cakāra prathamāni vajrī. ahann ahim anv apas tatar da pra vakṣaṇā abhinat parvatānām.
I shall now proclaim Indra’s manly deeds, the foremost that the Wielder of the bolt performed: he smote the serpent and released the waters; he cleft the channels and shattered the mountains’ sides.

अह॒न्नहिं॒ पर्व॑ते शिश्रिया॒णं त्वष्टा॑स्मै॒ वज्रं॑ स्व॒र्यं ऽ ततक्ष । वा॒श्रा इ॑व धे॒नवः॒ स्यन्द॑माना॒ अञ्जः॑ समु॒द्रमव॑ जग्मु॒रापः॑ ॥६॥
ahann ahiṁ parvate śiśriyāṇaṁ tvaṣṭā asmai vajraṁ svaryaṁ tatakṣa. vāśrā iva dhenavaḥ syandamānā añjaḥ samudram ava jagmur āpaḥ.
He struck the serpent lying on the mountain; Tvaṣṭṛ fashioned for him the heaven-sounding bolt. Like milch-cows the waters, streaming, went straight and reached the ocean.

वृषा॒यमा॑णो अवृणीत॒ सोमं॒ त्रिक॑द्रुकेष्वपिबत् सु॒तस्य॑ । आ साय॑कं म॒घवा॑दत्त॒ वज्र॒मह॑न्नेनं प्रथम॒जामही॑नाम्॥७॥
vṛṣāyamāṇo avṛṇīta somaṁ trikadrukeṣv apibat sutasya. ā sāyakaṁ maghavād datta vajram ahann enaṁ prathamajām ahīnām.
In full vigor he chose Soma and drank the pressed juice in the three vats. Maghavan took up the arrow-like bolt and with it struck down the firstborn of the mighty mothers.
